An Amazing Precious Gift

This month is the beginning of a new year; a year where you could make a difference, either to yourself or to others. Or perhaps to both.

Reflect on the previous year for a short while, and take note of what you have done and achieved, not just for yourself, but also for others.

Ask yourself, How have I touched or helped others? How much pleasure has that given me?
A friend I know told me that having seen the look of sheer happiness on an old man’s face when he gave him a ten pound note around Christmas day was priceless.

The lonely, frail man was standing next to an ATM machine selling his alarm clock for a pound.
That had become a life-changing moment for this friend of mine. Life to him became worthwhile; it had a deeper spiritual meaning to him.

He made it his ‘Contribution Goal’ for 2008 to be around the same area at least once a month to give him, or someone else, the same ‘good deed’ as he would call it.

“That is the best gift of all, to me and to the other person,” my friend would explain in earnest.
If you were to contribute something to someone this month, what would that gesture be?
