Manage Your Negative Thoughts

Every now and then, we all think negative and unconstructive thoughts. Some of which could be more harmful than others.

We have to be meticulous of the damaging thoughts, particularly those that spring into our unsuspecting minds. Thoughts such as, “You want me to chair next week’s departmental meeting! I can’t do that?”

It is imperatively important that we manage those negative thoughts, and the first step in doing so is to examine them objectively.

Then we go on a counter-attack and say, “I’m over-reacting? That’s not me!”

Repeat this statement, or something similar that you are happy with, a few times so that this declaration becomes more powerful that the negative thought.

This way you fight back and reduce the power of that destructive thought.
