We Do Better When We Feel Better
On the next hot and sunny day, during your lunch break, go outside of your office building and open your eyes; I mean really open them from deep within. Release the blinkers that cloud your eyes and bask in the beauty and splendour that surrounds you.
Take a few minutes to bathe in the magnificence of a fantastic summer’s day.
Spot the pleasant smiling faces along the pavement, notice the affectionate loving couples cuddling on the benches, observe warm-hearted people lying on the grass and hear the cheery sound of the chirping birds and perhaps the flow of the nearby stream.
How does that make you feel? Do you sense a feeling of warmth, contentment and inner peace?
The majority of people tend to open up and become more receptive to inner peace during the warm summer months. They feel better, they become more hospitable to each other, and they are relaxed and more productive in their work.
“Most of us feel great during the summer”, remarked one client. “The greater we feel the better we do.”
What can we do to take full advantage of this? It is easier to change your bad habits when you are in a happy and optimistic mood; when you are feeling fantastic and at ease. Why not feel terrific and keep that sensation within you all year round?
Start off by writing 1 – 3 habits that you would like to change, and then devise a plan of execution. Go ahead and challenge those unwanted habits.
On your way home after work, think about what nagging habits you would like to change. Write them down and schedule a time when you would take action to tackle them, one at a time.
