“So what is talent, anyway?” asked a frustrated and curious client, with his arms waving above his head.

“Talent is when someone has a superior ability, a flair or a knack in a particular field,” I replied.

Talent has become today’s most sought-after quality and trait. It seems that companies are hiring and promoting people who are the best and brightest over experience.

For the past couple of years attracting, retaining and promoting the best talent has become the number one priority of many companies. Companies tend to compete for talent to the point that some companies think they cannot manage without it.

“Yes, I’ve noticed that some companies want the most talented and the highest performers,” the client interjected.

There is a talent shortage nowadays. Identify your talent and learn to expand on it. This way you can gain an edge over your competition.

Since companies want to attract and retain talent, and since they are in limited supply, why wouldn’t you work on maximising your talent potential to join the company of your choice?
