Step Into a More Confident You

“How can I quickly be more confident?” questioned a shy client as he stared at his shoes.

“Very simple,” I responded. “Think of someone you really admire, someone you look up to, who has all the confidence qualities that you want to have.”

This individual could be a father, a celebrity, an author, a president. Any one, so long as the required qualities are there.

After he chose his confidence role model, I asked him to stand up and close his eyes, and imagine that the person he admires most was standing right next to him, shoulder to shoulder.

I then asked my client to describe all the qualities that his confident role model has; to list them all, one by one. When he was ready, I asked him to imagine the role model was engulfed in a bright white light.

“Now, step right in to the role model. The two of you are now one. Feel the surge of confidence that is now within you,” I instructed. “The bright white light is a light of confidence that you now share with your role model. It is glowing throughout your body. Feel it. Acknowledge it. Accept it.”

My client’s chest expanded as he stood taller; filled with confidence.

“Anytime that you have low confidence, recall your role model and step into her, and enjoy the confidence that has been passed on to you,” I said, and asked him to open his eyes.

If you were to think of a confidence idol or role model, who would that person be?
