Bill Clinton Pays Tribute to Tony Blair at the Conference
As the camera turned from Bill Clinton to Tony Blair, the smile that spread across his face was like that of a young child. That sense of feeling good and being appreciated was so clear, so present, as Blair drank in the words that Clinton was saying.
No matter our age, no matter our stage or status in life, there are certain elements of life that we all respond to in a similar way: praise, recognition, acknowledgement, support, warmth and affection, to name a few.
These elements motivate us, drive us, give us hope, encouragement, determination and a desire to do more to get more of these. Like the children that we once were, we still respond instictively to the emotional shifts that these elements create in us.
